Fallout 76: Creatures

Various creatures I created working on Fallout 76.
I think I created the majority of new creatures present at launch on Fallout 76, which added to my ported creatures brought over from Fallout 4. The amazing team has since created many more.

My creatures were:
Mole Miner
Mothman
Scorchbeast
Scorchbeast Queen
Snallygaster
Honey Beast

Fallout creature exist at a fun intersection of the real, the mutated, and science fiction pulp. 76 had a focus on adding new mutants inspired by regional cryptids.

Moth Man. Designed by Ilya Nazarov. Many of the original accounts of the moth man make it clear the viewer was probably being scared by an owl late at night. We wanted a design that could also resemble an owl at a glance.

Scorchbeast. The big-bad for the game at launch was this giant mutated bat creature.

Snallygaster. Most mutants in fallout resemble their source animal, but we wanted to lean into body horror on this one and make something difficult to comprehend. It was definitely a man at some point.

Honey Beast. A giant mutated queen bee carrying her hive on/within her abdomen. The name was my idea :)

Mole Miner. These were to have a sort of classic horror slasher Vibe, as well as being like evil oompa loompahs. I don’t know if we ever established the lore, but in my mind these were always just another flavor of Ghoul.

Scorchbeast Queen. The “bigger” bad. This variant on the original Scorchbeast was my design.
